Highlights for 2022:

  • A balanced curriculum to learn about religion, culture, Science, Vedic Math, Art, and Fun
  • Research and volunteering for High-schoolers 
  • Fully supported (guided by teachers) for elementary schoolers, Semi supported for Middle schoolers, guided with oversight for High schoolers
  • Flexible to advance to higher levels for capable students (teacher consent needed during orientation)

 

In-Person program:

Dates: July 11th to July 22nd, Monday-Friday (2 weeks), Graduation program on July 24th, 2022

  • Away from screens and socialize with other kids
  • 2 Weeks starting Jul 11th, ending on July 22nd
  • Monday thru Friday (No classes on weekend)
  • Full-day program (8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
  • Drop-off between 8:15 AM to 8:30 AM and Pickup between 5:00 PM and 5:15 PM
  • Includes yoga, arts and crafts, chants/bhajans, Clay molding (1 class during the first week to make Ganesha idol and 1 class during the second week to make Shiva linga)
  • Teachers and volunteers fully vaccinated
  • A balanced vegetarian meal program (Included in the fee) - with a mix of local/Indian breakfasts, prepared by HTGC Kitchen (to the large extent possible), Snacks and Fruit juices, local/Indian snacks
  • Camp-Kit includes
    • Choice of either a yoga mat or yoga blocks
    • The camp booklet includes Vedic math explanations and exercises
    • Arts and crafts materials
    • Clay for moldings
    • Online Access to Moodle (learning management system) for electronic material, recorded versions of chants and bhajans
  • A flexible program for teenagers
    • Flexible choices for teenagers 
    • Projects - Guided by Professors/Professionals with a certificate signed off by them (maybe useful during college applications)
    • Free choice times
      • Research on religious topics
      • Research on Indian culture/travel/etc
      • Library time
      • Reading club
      • Informal discussions/share knowledge/Improv
      • Making new connections/friends
  • Teenager volunteering opportunities (Letter will be provided with the hours volunteered)
    • Mentor younger children
    • Guide and lead younger children
    • Assist with Registration, check-in (during drop off), check-out (during pick-up)
  • Security person on-site
  • At least one (retired) healthcare professional on-site

Vidyalaya offers a $25.00 discount per family for children’s programs for children who participated in Vidyalaya 2020-2021, Vidyalaya 2021-2022, Summer Vedic camp 2020, or Summer Vedic camp 2021.   For more information, these families may contact the Vidyalaya team by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Miscellaneous Info:

Attendance requirements (for all programs):

  • At least 60% attendance needed for the participation certificate
  • 80% + attendance (8 out of 10 classes) will receive a perfect attendance sticker

Health & Safety:

  • Security person on site 
  • Self-certification by parents, teachers, and volunteers.
  • Follow CDC guidelines
  • Children who show any symptoms of sickness will be separated and parents will be called to take them home immediately.
  • If any child gets sick when at the camp, all parents will be notified by email. 

Fee: 

  • The fee is for the entire program and is non-refundable.
  • Cannot be broken into multiple weeks

Camp Policies (Partial list):

Ages 16+ are required to be vaccinated prior to participation in classes. An immunization report will be needed (a form submitted to last school year would suffice) for  classes. Acceptance to HTGC Vidyalaya policies, online access policies is required.
