Highlights:

Choice of

  • In-Person: for near suburbs of Lemont
  • Online: for Out-of-State or Far suburbs (more than 40 miles from Lemont)
  • Adult (online)

In-Person program:

Dates: July 19th to July 30th, Monday-Friday (2 weeks), Graduation program on August 7th, 2021

  • Away from screens and socialize with other kids
  • 2 Weeks starting Jul 19th, ending on July 30th
  • Monday thru Friday (No classes on weekend)
  • Full-day program (8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
  • Drop-off between 8:15 AM to 8:30 AM and Pickup between 5:00 PM and 5:15 PM
  • Includes yoga, arts and crafts, chants/bhajans, Clay molding (1 class during the first week to make Ganesha idol and 1 class during the second week to make Shiva linga)
  • Teachers and volunteers fully vaccinated
  • 16+ participants are required to be vaccinated
  • A balanced vegetarian meal program (Included in the fee) - with a mix of local/Indian breakfasts, prepared by HTGC Kitchen (to the large extent possible), Snacks and Fruit juices, local/Indian snacks
  • Camp-Kit includes
    • Choice of either a yoga mat or yoga blocks
    • The camp booklet includes Vedic math explanations and exercises
    • Arts and crafts materials
    • Clay for moldings
    • Online Access to Moodle (learning management system) for electronic material, recorded versions of chants and bhajans
  • A flexible program for teenagers
    • Flexible choices for teenagers 
    • Projects (Choose one) - Guided by Professors/Professionals with a certificate signed off by them (maybe useful during college applications)
      • Data science
      • Research in Healthcare space (virus/vaccines)
    • Free choice times
      • Research on religious topics
      • Research on Indian culture/travel/etc
      • Library time
      • Reading club
      • Informal discussions/share knowledge/Improv
      • Making new connections/friends
  • Teenager volunteering opportunities (Letter will be provided with the hours volunteered)

    • Assist with Registration, check-in (during drop off), check-out (during pick-up)
  • Security person on-site
  • At least one (retired) healthcare professional on-site

Online Program:

Dates: July 19th to August 6th (3 Weeks), Monday-Friday, Online Graduation on Aug 8th

  • An opportunity targeted for out-of-state/Far-suburban students to be engaged (this will not substitute for in-person camp)
  • Not recommended as a convenience for near-suburban students
  • 3 Weeks starting Jul 19, ending on August 6th
  • Monday thru Friday (No classes on weekend)
  • 4 hours per day to limit screen time (8:30 to 12:30) 
  • A mix of Religion/science/Vedic math
  • Coloring and storytime younger children
  • Classes held on moodle (online learning management system)  for electronic material, recorded versions of chants and bhajans
  • Camp booklet available to download on moodle
  • No other camp kit

Adult (Online):

Dates:  July 19th to July 30th, Monday-Friday (2 weeks), Graduation program on August 7th, 2021

  • Meet the interest of adults with interest in a religious/spiritual program
  • 2 weeks starting Jul 19th, ending on July 30th
  • 2 hours every weekday (Monday-Friday) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 
  • Online (Zoom based) program
  • Up to 2 Adults/per family using the same device may join 
  • Program includes:  
    • Short Opening/Closing prayers
    • A lecture by the learned priest/spiritual guru
    • Reciting of one/two short Vedic hymn(s)
    • A Q & A / Discussion/Knowledge sharing session
  • Acceptance to Camp policies and permission form should be completed for recording audio/videos and posting.

Fee for the Adult program:

Two adults from a single-family can join for one fixed fee of $100.00.

 

Miscellaneous Info:

Attendance requirements (for all programs):

  • At least 60% attendance needed for the participation certificate
  • 80% + attendance (8 out of 10 classes) will receive a perfect attendance sticker

Health & Safety:

  • Security person on site 
  • Temperature check at the time of check-in 
  • Self-certification every day by parents, teachers, and volunteers.
  • Strongly suggest mask-wearing (Use discretion and follow CDC guidelines)
  • Children who show any symptoms of sickness will be separated and parents will be called to take them home immediately.
  • If any child gets sick when at the camp, all parents will be notified by email. 

Fee: 

  • The fee is for the entire program (either In-person or Online) and is non-refundable.
  • Cannot be broken into multiple weeks

Camp Policies (Partial list):

Ages 16+ are required to be vaccinated prior to participation in Onsite (In-person) classes. An immunization report will be needed (a form submitted to last school year would suffice) for Onsite (in-person) classes. Acceptance to HTGC Vidyalaya policies, online access policies is required.
